The Lifelong Learning Curve of an Artist...

Updated: Sep 3, 2025

Greetings! As the first of many blog entries I hope to write, I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for visiting this site. Starting a website has been a labour of love if not at times, a frustrating one!

I am always thinking about subject matter for my paintings. The Canadian landscape is full of them. From the Rockies to the Maritime provinces to Quebec, Ontario, the Prairies and of course, the far North! I myself have been lucky enough to have lived in some of these places. I was born in Quebec, then lived in the Nova Scotia for a few years but for the last few decades, I have found myself here in Ontario. I've lived in and explored most of the regions here at this point.

I'm a big fan of the American landscape too. Miss regular journeys to the American east coast, the southeast, even parts of Arizona to the southwest. For now, however, I will remain in the country I love, Canada; my favourite country, my inspiration, my home.

Always interested in what other artists do and always aspiring to improve. If there are any comments you'd like to make, any suggestions for the "suggestion box", feel free to drop me a line. I'm always here!

Cheers!

Jen Wilson
